All India Seminar on Jain way of life & relevance today is being organized by B. L. Institute of Indology, Delhi

Two days All India Seminar on Jain way of life & its relevance today is being organized by Bhogilal Leherchand Institute of Indology, Delhi on Friday 6th & Saturday 7th February 2009 in India International Centre, New Delhi. Dr. J. B. Shah is the convener of this Seminar.

In a press release Dr. Balaji Ganorkar, Director of the Institute has expressed that the humanity today is getting the most serious threat from terrorism. Life for common man was never so difficult as to-day. World, because of the terrorism, has been in the grip of problems, which are not ending easily. With materialistic approach, religious and social liberalization is not doing well but causing harm to the humanity and society. To-day, our youth deprived of the knowledge of our culture, is adopting the life-style of western world which is creating a number of problems. To get rid of these problems, understanding and knowledge of the Jain way of life is very useful. In this scenario the Institute has organized this interesting Seminar. There would be serious deliberations here on the vivid aspects of life as depicted in Jain texts.

The leading scholars like Dr. S. R. Banerjee (Kolkata), Dr. Sagarmal Jain (Shazapur), Dr. Dayanand Bhargava (Jaipur), Dr. Phool Chand Jain (Varanasi), Prof. Mukul Raj Mehta (Varanasi), Dr. Kokila Shah (Mumbai), Dr. Dharma Chand Jain (Jodhpur), Dr. Hama Nagarajaiha (Bangalore), Dr. S. P. Narang (Delhi), Dr. Shashiprabha Kumar (JNU), Dr. A. K. Singh (Delhi), Dr. Dinanath Sharma (Ahmedabad) etc will present their papers in seven academic sessions during two days.
